Going To Try The Cmac 11 First Big Worm

I have not been a big worm fishermen ever and I picked up a bag of these 11 inch ribbon tail worms in summer craw.  The lakes around here are very clear so I figured that this was a more natural color.  So what should I know about the big worm???

Texas rig it for tight condensed cover and structure. Carolina rig it for covering water . Fanning points. Dragging creek beds, humps, etc. Use a heavier rod with fast taper. Drag it, hop it, slow as you can stand. And hang on for dear life brother. I freaking love wormin.

I like fishing them on a swinging football head during the summer time and dragging them. Don't expect every fish to be a big fish, or even bigger than the worm at times.

I was going to try and use very little weight or none t-riged.  Most of the lakes here have a lot of veg and the bass seem to key on a slow fall.  I will use my ledged 70mhf and 15 lb flouro and use the lightest weight to cast a good distance.  Is a 5/0 ewg hook big enough???

I use a 4/0 most of the time so a 5/0 will be plenty. I prefer a 1/4oz head if I can get away with it.

I used to use as big of a ewg as I could get away with. Now I do the opposite. And try to use regular offset Worm hooks. Especially with thinner plastic baits. The smaller the hook the better natural action the bait will have.
