New Swim Jig Trailer

Always liked the skinny dipper for my quarter oz northern style swim jigs.

Recently I got a bunch of 3.8" fat swing impacts in a trade, and fished them this morning. The paddletail size seems to be comparable to the skinny dipper, but I didn't detect as much side to side movement/ rolling of the jig (tail wagging the dog).

The fish weren't complaining though, they loved it. I'm pretty impressed actually with the catch rate.

Need to try the 4.3 and 4.8 inch sizes to see if I get can better secondary action.

The 3.8 fat impact pairs perfect with California style swimjigs like The Dirty Jigs version. The 4 inch swing impact is ideal for your 1/4 oz northern style swimjigs. If you step up in size on the fat impacts to say the 4.3 or 4.8 they tend to tear easily but do create a bigger profile.

Between the Keitech offerings, the little dipper, and a partial swimsenko, I can cover all my paddle tail trailer needs.

I probably have a few photos I can post as well...

I love these things. They move really well in the water and have good color offerings. The main problem is they are relatively expensive and not durable.

Still worth it no doubt. I would trade productivity over durability especially on tough days. There are few knockoffs that aren't too bad but the color and size selection is lacking. Plus the Keitechs have that great squid scent too. I think I have about 20 packs of fat impacts and 20 packs of swing impacts just to use as jig trailers. Really they are a top 3 paddle trailer for me for swimjigs.

Roboworm EZ shad is an awesome trailer too.

Missile Baits Shockwave 4.25 in Bluegill or Shad colors for using with a swimbait .

I like the Rage Craw and Menace and the Zman Turbo CrawZ. Twin tail grubs work well also.

In the waters I fish, the Easy Shiner is a better bait than the Swing Impact and I believe it is because of what you noticed. For fishing them on a jig head or weighted hook, the body roll on the Easy Shiner seemed to draw more strikes that the faster tail kick of the swing impact but as a swim jig trailer it doesn't seem to matter as both work very well.

I don't throw swimbaits as trailers on swim jigs too often. Most of my fishing with swimjigs is around bluegill and I use  a Rage Tail Menace A LOT as a trailer

Will have to try this though...

The Keitech Impact Fats, Impacts, and Easy Shiners are all great trailers.

I also have good luck using Zoom Fat Alberts (single and double tail), and the split tail trailers.

I also recently got some Bruiser Baits Evil Twin trailers and they have great action as well. The legs on it kick outward instead of inward like most double tailed grubs.

i've started using them lately as my go-to on the swim jig trailers

they have some sweet color options

I hang-on to the tail sections of all damaged Keitech Fat Swings, Gambler Big EZs,

Rage Lobsters, Wave Worm Tiki Snakes and Sizmic Toads, then use them for jig trailers.
