Choosing The Perfect Color

Featured Replies

I've going camping in a couple weeks and I wanna fish at the lake that's there. I have no idea of water color of the lake and I can't find any info on it. My question is, WHAT COLORS SHOULD I TAKE. PLEASE HELP ME OUT. THANKS

Generally green pumpkin, brown, watermelon, and black are great choices for clear water and finicky fish. Black/blue, junebug, and chartreuse with another color are great dirty water choices. I like bamabug and okeechobee craw as good compromises between clear and dirty water.

There are no cut and dry rules. Just bring a few to try and see what the fish respond to.

You pay too much attention to color. Pay more attention to where, with what and how you are trying to catch them.

Black, Junebug, Green Pumpkin, and Watermelon

If you feel like that is too much just bring Black and Green Pumpkin. These are what works for me.

Neither do we.

You could always throw baits what work on other waters close by.

More importantly, I'd encourage you to use techniques & baits that you have confidence in.

Good Luck
