Does It Actually Work?

Featured Replies

Hey I recently was looking on eBay for discount braid and then found that there are off brands like spider wire and power pro that are really cheap but they are from China, I've heard that its power pro just not with the brand name on it and I've also heard its crap line any opinions?

I should say does anyone know of it actually works?

Over the years I've read horror stories of these lines

failing in a myriad of ways. Weak spots, etc.

Personally, I avoid them even though the prices are

good. If you search the forums here you might even

find some info.

stay away from the off brand power pro. Go to wal mart and pay 12-13$ for a spool of the real stuff...

Think about this.  You buy the line, you hook into a monster bass <BIGGEST OF YOUR LIFE> and your line snaps because you went "CHEAP".  You will never ever forgive yourself.  Spend the money on proven brand name lines that work.  This isn't to say the lines you're referring to are or are not great, but why risk it?

Good braid should last you multiple seasons if you don't cut it off a lot.  If you're a leader type of person, that will even make it last longer.

Thanks for the input another question is where's the cheapest place to get about 50lb braid I usually get it at gander but I feel as if there's places where it's a good $10 cheaper

My rule of thumb is never skimp on two things. Hooks and Line. These are the things that really determine if you will land a fish or not.

Dick's or Academy usually have good sales on Power Pro a few times during the year. I try to buy it at less than $10/150 yd spool.
