I use to have a dozen of them and they have slowly disappeared . This one worked well and I hung her in a brush pile. Tried the hound Dog lure retriever and the line snapped . Time to make a hundred mile trip to a flea market  and try to score some .

my grandpa passed away back in november and a couple months back my grandma gave me all his old fishing stuff (vintage fly rod, reel, lures, etc.) one of the lures in the tackle box was what looked to be a pretty old deep wee R same yellow perch color i imagine.  the rings and hooks were rusted so i replaced them and was determined to catch a fish on it, but also scared to death to lose it. 

well first trip out with it i caught a 1.5lb spot with it and have since decided to retire it.  I just thought it would be cool to catch a fish on the same bait my grandpa probably caught one on many years ago.....

That was my first crankbait and my second bass bait ever. Silver with blue back. I loved it because you didn't need to "set the hook" on it. It took me a long time to develop that feel with the worm.

Two other cranks I really miss are the bomber fat A, especially the 2.25", 5/8 ounce model that dives 10 - 12 feet, and the rattlin' fat rap.

I still have an old one of those in the craw pattern! A great lure, and one of my favorites from childhood. I haven't used it in years, but back in the day, it was good for bass and the occasional river walleye, and on at least one occasion, a particularly ambitious perch. I also recall it survived a close call with a pike, my brother and I having just barely gotten the little monster onto the dock before it cut the line.

 

Out of curiosity, I just checked ebay listings -- yeah, there really are quite a few available.
