Jig trailers???

Featured Replies

What would you guys reccomend using as a trailer when using a jig in deep water? Just trying to get some other ideas. I usually use Zoom Chunk trailers.

Thanks in advance for the info and tips.

It's safe to say that all trailers catch bass, so it probably boils down to a confidence thingy.

I especially like the Zoom Big Critter Craw, but for someone else, if using that trailer meant a 10% loss in confidence,

that would constitute a bad trade-off, IMO :)

I like Uncle Josh's #11 bait frog

I also use the Zoom chunks from time to time

The Paca Chunk also looks very promising. I've only used them a few times, but they definitely add a new dimension to the overall look of the jig, and I caught some bass on them first time out. I like to use the pig-n-jig about as well as any other bait, so I'm pretty excited about this particular trailer.

Thanks for the responses.  I think I may just stick with the Zoom chunks and see what happens.  They have been pretty good for me in the past.

I used the Zoom super chunk for years until a buddy gave me a pack of Paca chunk sr's. I'm sold on the paca chunks now. The movement of the flippers when the jig is falling sold me and I have a lot more hits while retreiving the lure. The paca chunks add a lot of action to a falling or swimming jig...............Al

Paca chunks, Zoom swimming chunks, yum buzz frogs and Uncles joshs have all produced evenly for me.  its just a person preference.  I have caught bass on a jig with an 8" ribbon tail worm on the back of it.  Just experiment w/ different trailers and find you 2-3 that you can stick with.

Paca chunks or baby paca craws, they are by far the best trailer I have ever used.

Rolo is right on! I use Powerbait Critter Craws because I like the fact that bass hold on longer to the jig than any other plastic I have used. They are more expensive, but I need the little extra they give me.
