I already have a bill dance plug knocker that i've used a few times, but not a ton.  i'm wondering if i'd be better off with one of those telescoping units?  I'm fishing from the bank half the time and from the kayak half the time.  in the yak, my plug knocker is fine, but from the bank can often be useless.

would i be better off looking into a telescoping unit that i could use both from the bank and the yak?  If so, any recommendations on a cheap yet durable option?

I have a BPS telescoping retriever that has paid for itself many times over, wouldn't be without it.
