Lake George Motels

Featured Replies

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to stay for the week if I'm going to be fishing Sacandaga Lake and Lake George. Thanks

I am in the area but it's one of the lakes I've not fished yet. I hear there are some monster pike in there. Looks like lots of mid lake open water structure. That's about it.

Again, I will advise that you check out the fishing and hunting section of the Adirondack forum. Search past history or sign up and ask forum members for help.

Sacandaga Reservoir holds the North American record northern pike: 46-2,

and once held the New York record largemouth bass.

Since the pike quality is so high, their density is quite low (typically the case).

On the other hand, Sacandaga is a very good bronzeback fishery,

where LMB & SMB would probably make the best target fish.

I've fished it a few times, always catch a few fish. I believe it's 23 miles long. Quite big for me in a tin or party boat. Compared to the river I normally fish it's generally very clear water. I know not a lot of help but it is a very nice lake to fish.

Oh yea I caught the fish in my avitar on sacandaga off a friends dock. Zoom finesse worm on a split shot.

Thanks guys.

Although I don't know it well, If you have a few days to pre-fish, I have heard that the narrow riverine area to the

Northeast up to the Conklingville Dam is good for smallmouth.

Also you might want to join the NYBASS forum,

and reach out to some of the folks on there for some insight.

I believe it has a lot of rocks and sand bars so be careful.
