Naples Fl

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I know I ask this every few months buy I'm in Naples again and would be forever grateful for some spots to hook up with some bass. Last november I was down here and made the trip to okeechobee and was not disappointed. I hear golden gate canal can produce some peacocks which would be a first for me. I've also heard of a lake within a 45 minute drive that can produce some trophies but for the life of me, can't rember the name. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I can go from the shore or rent a boat, kayak, canoe, etc. Don't be shy...I will happily return the favor if any of guys find yourself in south western ohio.

Not to be a smart a@$, but forget about the bass and go snook fishing. You are in the heart of some of the best snook fishing in Florida.

If your gonna be in Naples I would highly suggest fishing the canal along side of the Tamiami Trail. About 30 miles from Naples is highway 29 which intersects with Tamiami Trail. Ive persnally caught lots of snook bass redfish and tarpon. Fish the bridges with small plugs. This a great time of year with the rain.

I know this is a late post but Lake Trafford sucks, don't even waste your time. I have caught many of bass in golf courses lakes and big ones too, many 5lb bass in golf course lakes, The biggest I one I caught was  at the Marriotts course going to Marco Island. Snook fishing is a blast too if you do that too. By the way I lived in Naples 49 years before moving up to Live Oak 3 years ago, Anyway have a good one

I'm heading back down there in a couple weeks.  I saw some posts mentioning golf courses.  Is that an option?  That wouldn't fly in my neck of the woods.

Bassresource is 100% against any form of law breaking. Suggesting doing so will not be allowed or tolerated. It's just a fish, nothing worth getting arrested over.

I'm north of you in Estero right now.  Bass fishing is good in the public ponds and canals, but I'm with the above on targeting snook in any of the tidal creeks or rivers. Flukes or spooks around piling  sand overhead cover is really really good right now.

The west coast of Florida in general lacks good fresh water fishing, with the exception of canals and a few lakes. But like mentioned makes up for it in salt water fishing.

I would go down the alley a ways of like suggested already down the trail.

Lake Trafford used to be an very productive lake back in the 70s, I haven't been since about then, very small and grass effects it greatly.

I talk to a buddy of mine when I was last down there a few weeks ago and he told me that they clean up Lake Trafford and that it has gotten better to fish. Good luck
