Hey all, 

 

Headed to Many, La to fish the big ol' pond October 18th - 21st. and we've hired "The Legend" Harold Allen for three days on Toledo Bend 

 

So what can a guy expect for the third week in October? I'm guessing that there would be plenty of fish in the creek arms at that time? 

 

Any must try food recommendations in the area?

 

Area attractions to check out? 

 

I would appreciate any general information of the area, food, fishing, etc.

 

I'm sitting 900 miles away here in Iowa chomping at the bit!

Lots of bass!

And a few big bass mixed in

October is one of my favorite months to fish Toledo. Not nearly the pressure spring gets and plenty of fish looking to feed up before winter. Expect some good top water action, cranking, and maybe some punching. I know Harold likes to throw a Carolina rig a lot too. As far as food goes, Big Mommas is my favorite place on the lake. It's only about 3 miles from the Pendleton bridge.

I hear ya! I plan on sifting thru those pages for sure! 

Big Mammas has a great steak and lots of other good dishes. Good cold beer also! Fishing should be good as mentioned earlier. If you like to play golf Cypress Bend is a great course that is on the water with some really nice views of the lake. Hemphill BBQ is nothing fancy man but they have some pretty good grub as well. The main attraction there for me is Toledo Town Tackle store. I always seem to spend way to much money than I should in that place. They are priced a little higher than most other places but so many selections right at your fingertips is irresistible to me lol.
