You should ship all your rods with a courtesy salvage diver.

I might have to tie a rope to it & the boat. The last one was stolen by a fish not dropped in the drink.

You wouldn't be referring to a certain SCV/Stella incident that took place 4 miles off shore in 50' of water?

In case anyone is curious, Stellas don't float, but they don't sink like stones either!

I would like to thank Dwight for being so patient through the process. The missed deadlines on the blank shipment, the reel seat not fitting and the pure laziness of me when I didn't feel like building. I don't like to build when I'm not feeling the Mojo cause what I end up putting out is crap. I went in to a funk in 2012 and didn't put out much between then and this past spring. I think it took getting a new piece of equipment to work with to get me back in the swing. I think I'm back!!

Burn out is something we have to be careful to avoid. It can be stressful to be creative all the time. The attention to detail can be hard to maintain when your mind wanders even s little. Welcome back even though I think you were with us all along.

Scott don't be too hard on yourself. You best my deadline by three weeks & StCroix threw us a big curve with the delayed blank delivery because of production delays.

It wasn't the quality of work that was lacking, it was my motivation. Remember how long it took for the Sage One? I had no desire to build rods. I'm not even gonna tell you how long BasserJim has been waiting for his tube rod and I have had his Presso casting reel for 2 or so years to get a CTS DS rod built for it.

I hope these posts inspire and push other builders to improve their skills. It's not rocket science, it just takes some practice!

Some builders are secretive about techniques to build things. I'll tell you how I did it and show pics along the way.

 

Your posts and a couple of the other guys here are what got me pretty much rebuilding my shop to get better at this. I've only ever done jigs and powder coating for years till I decided to buy a rod kit earlier this year. Now I've about got myself setup to do about everything. I have to admit its pretty cool to build a spinnerbait rod then fire up the lead pot and make a bunch of spinnerbaits to throw with that rod lol.
