Yes, I have recently been using these hooks for my flipping and punching applications. This hook means serious business. I have found that the sharpness of this hook is a double edged sort of speak. It sticks fish extremely well, but it cuts up your bait pretty good too.

Agree

Nothing I've ever used is as sharp as these, they will stick a fish for sure. Just be careful when rigging. Do it right the first time.

Like the hook...hate the bait holder!

check out the Mustad grip pin max flippin hook

I quit using using them, because the point is like a razor. Sure I agree it is a very good penetrating hook, but I have lost Many big fish trying to pull them from cover. Every one I have seen rips a big hole in the fish's mouth if there is side pressure (fighting the fish.). When you get the fish out of the water, the hook comes right out, because it's loose because of the hole it just tore....

i use them but i'm most likely going to fish i feel like they are to sharp if your bait gets caught on anything the hook point will come through and you'll end up tearing up your bait pretty bad

I like Mustad & the redesigned pin is better!

i hate the shrink tube bait holders as they also tear up your bait , the Grip Pin Max Flippin hook is the best design in flipping hooks . Mustad makes some great hooks , 2nd to Owner .....

I got some 5/0 Trokar hooks free but the plastic keeper is so big they will not fit anything I throw.

My favorite hook for years was Mustad's Denny Brauer Flipping Hook without the pin.

I like them, use them and the holder is the reason!! I use to use the Gamakatsu flipping hook but the shrink tube keeper kept sliding down the shank of the hook pulling the bait down and tearing it up. The Trokar works well, I never had a single one slip on me and every single Gamakatsu I used the keeper slipped.

x2 I had wrote Gamakatsu about the issue and they told me it had been resolved. I went out and bought two packs of the new and improved ones and had the exact same issue. I think I threw the second pack away. Switched to Trokars and haven't looked back.

I use the hack attack hook now. The trokar is great, but unfortunately too great. When flipping dense grass (water willows here) it takes very little pressure to have the hook bury through the bait and into willows. Only baits that reduce this is the Zman stuff.

Hack attack hook doesn't have this issue and is a super strong, aggressive hook.
