You better pick up one of those BBZ Ratz! You been catching a few carnivores lately.

Birds, moles, mice... what's next? You seem to find an inordinate amount of terrestrial critters in your bass catches. Are you fishing small waters? Or shoreline oriented bass? Marshes, swamps? Curious.

Fishing buddy Eric found out that the CL8 Vole worked for this smallie:

Try a live target field mouse. I use this instead of frogs all the time. It works great for me but I have never had a fish cough up a real one.

That's awesome!

GROSS.  Did you weigh it...the rat I mean.

Spro just released the smaller size of their BBZ Rat. I'll be getting a couple, mainly for smallies.

I usually am fishing waters that range from 200 - 2000 acres when I am in Maine. I prefer to fish off shore unless it is spring or early fall. All ponds and lakes, no swamps or marshes.

I def will be getting a CL8 vole.

I did not weigh the mouse.

My dad had something similar to this about 5 years ago. He caught a bass, it was maybe 1.5lbs, and it had a mouse tail in its throat! It was definitely a mouse but just the tail was showing!

I caught this one a year or 2 ago

Birds?  Moles?  Where?

Maine is a hell of a place to be a rodent.  Seems like mice have more to fear from your fish than from my cat.
