So I bought a spool of 8lb braid for my bluegill/crappie/perch rod....but never got around to putting it on. Had an extra 1500 reel lying around, so made another finesse/shakeyhead/dropshot rod.

Let me tell you, I love this line...it lays so nicely on the spool, doesnt get wind knots, casts a mile (granted 2lb diameter) and is strong and sensitive. Prefer it to PP, Hi Seas and PLine.

How are other TUF braid? Still good results as you increase in size? If I remember correctly its semi in-expensive too! I need a 30/35lb for my jig/worm rod.

Which Tuf line product did you buy.  I have 15 lb XP and it still gets "wind knots" occasionally.  I think those are actually caused by loops that form on the spool and then get caught in the next cast. 

 

The Tuf Line coated braids are thicker but more manageable.

Try Tuf-Line Tournament 8, I think you will like it a lot!

I like the heavier tufline xp a good bit. Definitely better than grand slam braid which is the quickest to fray I've ever used. Smoother than PP too.

Tuf XP 8lb....love it!

I spooled up with 15# XP on a couple DS and tube rods thus year. I like it. Its quieter through the guides than PowerPro.

I've never tried Tuf Line.. I'll take a look at it online.

Power Pro on all my reels now. I find its the best thru the guides and is always consistent.
