Bag, Box, Or Backpack?

Featured Replies

With the BF sales at TW I bought  a 'Wild River TT Nomad XP Lighted Backpack USB'. Thought the price seems to be high, this back is an awesome investment. Great quality and a lot of places where you can put stuff.

I have the backback on when I walk around the bank with my 2-3 rods and the great balance makes me almost forget that I am wearing a big back bag.

I have 4 x 3600 boxes in there where I can store like 90% of my lures that I own.

Check also Amazon. They sell the bags there for aroun 160 USD.

What you using and why?

Looking to update. Need omething good from bank or my jon boat. Needs to be portable for bank foshi g but also carry all my tackle

I use a sling pack for all my bank fishing needs. Forces me to carry only the essential baits and tackle. That way I am not walking the bait with pounds and pounds of crap that I don't need.

I bought a Spiderwire backpack a few years ago.  It holds 4-5 3400s, has lots of pockets, holding straps and two rod holders. I use it for shore and kayak fishing.  It's held up great.

Yes! Haha. In all seriousness I use both bags and backpacks all the time and sometimes at the same time on the same trip. Not so much the “proper” hard style boxes anymore. I have a G Loomis back pack which fits the "3600" sizes boxes/ trays and a carry bag that fits the "3700" size. I use the Loomis for the portability and the bag with the 3700's for sheer capacity. In your case it sounds like a fishing specific back pack would be your best bet. Most of them have a separate built in lower compartment specifically for storing trays horizontally. Well worth the investment.
