Hangkai 3.5 Outboard?

Featured Replies

Anyone have any experience with the Hangkai outboards that are everywhere on eBay and Amazon? How do you like them? Im looking at a cheaper (on a budget) outboard for my 13' Gheenoe to replace my 55lb trolling motor for a longer trip and slightly faster speed

I do not have any experience with those, but I have owned a johnson 2hp for a long time, that was bought at a yard sale very cheap. That thing has never missed a beat. You are better off buying a name brand motor you know parts will always be available for.

So I'm finding mixed reviews with most being on the negative side. The youtube videos show it being very noisy. I'm wondering about honoring the warranty. Where do you get replacement parts? Service? All the big American and Jap names make smaller hp motors. Finding one of these a couple years old might be a better option.

The 3.5 hp motors they sell are Mitsubishi made in Japan.

They offer both 2 and 4 strokes that are air cooled.

How fast will one of these little 3 or 4 HP babies run a 14 ft jon boat?
