Lew's Speed Spool Vs Bps Pro Qualifier

Featured Replies

Anyone used both? I like my pro qualifiers but was wondering if the Lew's was any better. They are the same price range is why I picked the speed spool. I really like the description of Lew's tournament mb. Thanks for any info.

lews all the way. i have at least one of almost every lews reels and they all are much better casting and smoother reeling than my two bps pq reels. i bought the pq reels for $50 each on sale and feel like i wasted my money on them.

I have both. The Lew's is a little lighter and cast a little further, but you can also get the PQ for cheaper when it's on sale. Plus I like the handle on the PQ better. I'd have a hard time deciding if I was going to choose between the two.

The PQ is s little heavier. It's just a matter of that and other model features. They're both built on the same platform.

Does same platform mean same manufacturer with different branding?

My brother fishes both and although he really likes his PQ, he loves his lews.

I have PQ,s TP's & MB and the PQ's are being replaced by TP's

I own both.  All were tuned by DVT and with exception to size, feel nearly identical.  Taking them apart, they look the same.

They're both very smooth and the PQ's cast farther.  I'd say you can't lose with either.

Yes. They both contract with the same factory as do many others (pure fishing brands for example). Many of the main parts are interchangeable.
