I have never really fished a senko before. I couldn't help notice how many people said that if they could only have one lure, it would be a senko.  I'm 15 years old and would like to know a few tips.

1. What is the best/your favorite way to rig them?

2. What is your favorite color?

3. How do you fish them?

1.  Texas rigged weightless

3.  Cast it to a fishy looking place and let it sink all the way to the bottom.  Sweep your rod tip slowly to move it a little.  Let it sink again.  Repeat until you are out of the percieved strike zone.  Vary the amount of time you let it sit.  Some guys (who are more patient than me) fish these very slowly with great success.  If you are not getting bit, mix up the speed of the sweep as well.

you WILL catch bass.

Fished as Cephkiller stated also after reaches bottom and 'dead sticked' for a short time, retrieve with two or three short jerks letting it fall back to the bottom each time.

I agree with this guy. i use a screw in offset shank worm hook by daiwa and skip it under docks. from there i just let it fall and twitch it every once in a while. i live on a  river and catch around 10 good size bass a day... just skip them under and there you go. yeah like i said i use those screw in worm hooks because they are nicer on the noses of the senkos and i use watermelon and white color. i also like the 2 inch senkos with a size three offset shank size 3 hook.

I pour my own and my go to color is the baby bass color tipped with spike it.

I'm with Triton21 - anything watermelon/greenish tipped with Chartruese Spike It.  Matches up with a bluegill's tail color.  I absolutely crush them with this combination.

Mostly wacky rigged but this year I'm going to try texas rigging weightless skin hooked for the weedless presentation.  Wacky rig just doesnt come through weeds very well and I really like to drop a senko into pockets.

Skipping them under overhangs is definately great advice.  Skipping a 4 inch under docks is very productive as well.

Watermelon, black and junebug are my faverites. Out of all the "senko" style baits, the Gary Senko and Wave Tiki Stick are my faverite.

I absolutely love senkos...I used to HATE them, but i got the teqnique down.

I usually rig them wackey (through the middle)

I can fish any color

And what i do, is cast it near the bank, or by any structure. When it hits the water, watch the line as it starts sinking, if you see the line move in any direction, set the hook!

Senko's suck.

You catch too many bass.

Sometimes the bass are too big.

It's just too easy, we need more challenge.

Can't fish them wrong.

Shallow or deep, they always work.

Cost way too much. After you catch 5 or 10 lbs of bass they always seem to fall apart.

Too heavy or too light; sink too slow or too fast; wiggle too much or not enough and the texture makes the bass hold on...It just isn't fair.

Man, I just wish Senko's weren't referred to as the "Greatest Bass Bait Of All time." There are a couple of other Classics: Creme Worm, Jitterbug, Lucky 13, Rat-L-Trap, Slug-Go, original Floating Rapala and maybe the Silver Buddy. In their era these baits were King. Today's lure might be the Senko, but tomorrow's bait is the Fat Ika!
