New to Bass Resource...from Richmond, VA

Hey everyone, just wanted to say hello. I've been lurking around on the forums for a while soaking up all of the great info posted here. I grew up living on a large pond in MA and fished everyday as a kid, but I've been out of the sport for about 25 years. Recently my 6 year old son took an interest in fishing so we bought some gear and now I'm hooked again :) At the moment, we're stuck on the bank, but if my son stays interested then I plan to buy a small boat next year.

So far I've fished Wilde Lake, Amelia Lake, Three Lakes Park, Lake Rooty, the pond behind Raintree, Lake Paige and Midlothian mines pond. Haven't had too much luck, but it's a though time of year to start fishing again. I'm looking forward to some warmer weather in Marcha and April.

    I think there was a fish kill in Rooty lake. Also, look up Echo lake. It's tough, but are some healthy fish in there. Green pumpkin plastics, plus it's a fairly shallow lake so. 

    We will talk more. There is a good central VA contingent in here so welcome again!

    Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. Wdycrankbait, I appreciate the tip on Echo Lake. I took a look at it on Google Maps and seems like there are some nice places to fish there. Flipping along that dam would probably yield some nice fish. There's a fountain and dock that could be nice spots as well. I've caught my best in RVA so far at Wilde Lake, but that place is very pressured. I'd love to find a few bodies of water that aren't quite as overfished. The hunt continues...

    Also, I recommend Greentop Sporting Goods for your local tackle needs. BPS is up there as well, but Greentop has some lures that are not main stream.
