A Rig Fishing

Featured Replies

Throwing an arig in mid February any tips or tricks? Just getting into fishing an a rig

I see you fish Hartwell. I've had decent luck on Hartwell in the Spring and early Summer with the Alabama rig. I've never tried it in the Winter, but I hope to this weekend. Water temp is low 50s to high 40s right now, so slower is better. Try to keep it off the bottom as much as you can, because it snags on EVERYTHING.

Rig your baits on keel weighted swimbait hooks instead of jigheads if snags are an issue. Makes a huge difference.

Don't throw one from the bank! It took me losing a couple to figure that one out. ?
