Favorite Winter/Cold Water Lures For Largemouths

Featured Replies

Well, I can't wait anymore. Warming trends are starting here in Louisiana, and I am ready to start fishing the Fresh. I have a spot picked out, and I am going to be going after sacalait and bass. As for the bass, I am looking at throwing Texas Rigged creature baits, crawfish flies, and frog imitations when the sun comes up.

How does my selection sound so far? What else would you recommend?

Well I don't know your area, but sounds good. :)

Here in SW Florida, a skirted jig with a crawfish trailer works good. Gold/black repalas always get results here also.

I use pretty much the same baits that I use in the warm weather. I just work them a lot slower.

I live where it freezes . After ice out and several days of warm weather , my best lure is the old Arbogast .Mudbug. Id throw it in the afternoons , parallel , on sunny rocky banks . Put the rod tip in the water and retrieve agonizingly slow . Its a hawg technique .
