when to fish poppers

Featured Replies

I fish them spring, summer, and fall. I throw them early in the morning and late evening.

I like to use poppers in the Spring and Fall during the early morning and evening, and in the heat of Summer an hour before and after dusk.

Poppers are a great bait if worked the right way. Personally the spring and summer have been the most effective. And PondBoss16 for ponds during the dog days of summer I find poppers effective. When the late evening sets for ponds, poppers are very effective at getting strikes from bass.

Best times for me are post spawn to late fall, but I always have at least one with me.

I fish them year round.

Year round, my favorite time is middle of a hot day in the summer around shaded cover.

The best time of year for any topwater is definitely fall, but you can get bit on them year round as stated. I seem to have the best luck on poppers anywhere from late summer through the fall and on overcast days year round.
