Every line has downfalls. Which downfalls are you trying to avoid?

Well it's a great copoly but the problem is that after maybe ten good days of fishing hard, seems like the florocarbon coating wears off from the regular abrasion that a line goes threw on the water.

For throwing square bills and lipless cranks I like Berkley Iron Silk in 17 or 20 lb test.   I get all the distance I want out of it and the abrasion resistant properties of this line are off the chart.  You do have to warm up with it, i.e. don't try to make long distance power casts right off.

3 or 4 shorter casts, get it wet and a little stretched for the day and it works good all day.

Big Game 10-15 pound depending on what I'm doing and where I'm doing it.

Spinning or baitcast reel?  Actually I use the same pound test line on both for that technique....8# mono or co-polymer.  I tend to use a softer line on spinning reels to keep memory down.  If using a baitcast reel, and you want maximum abrasion resistance, then a couple more lines to look at are Izorline Platinum and P-Line CXX.  I've never used Iron Silk, but I will take Fishes in trees word.  Also have to agree that any non-braid line cast better after making a few casts to get it good and wet.  I often hold the rod tip in the water for the first few retrieves.

Original Sunline Defier is the absolute best. Zero downfalls in my book.

Sunline Reaction Fluoro or Defier

10lb Tatsu or 10lb Big Game if you're on a budget.
