Has anyone been doing any good with bigger swim baits? I think the fish are still in the spawn/post spawn stages and might not be interested in baits that size right now. I have been catching them on the fluke around the weed lines just under the surface so i'm pretty sure their in post spawn phase and would be interested in eating bigger baits. Just want to know how the fish are reacting to the bigger baits.

You should probably try at least one large swimbait, such as a Hudd trout. And yes, you will catch a big fish, or two - eventually. However, you're going to have to spend a lot of time chucking that huge thing, for the few hits that you will get. But if it's your "thing" to land one big bass, then casting these large lures is probably the best shot you have at being successful. Personally, I rather enjoy catching a lot more smaller bass; and I manage a biggy every now and then.

Oh I know they will catch big bass, i was just wondering if anyone had any luck right around the spawning phases. I do like the Hudd's, especially the 6 inch one in golden shiner.

I've caught some on them here in KS already this year. Don't think I would stop throwing them if I lived in Florida. 

What do you co sider bigger swimbaits? Only fish big swim baits if you want to eliminate 80 percent of the fish in the lake. Only fish them if you're willing to fish for maybe a few bites an outing. Only fish them if you want to catch the biggest gnarliest slaunch around. I've broken my personal best several times since swim bait fishing. Including several D.D's.
