quick changers

Featured Replies

I picked up some little things you tie your line to that allow you to change lures or hooks without retying. i figured they'd be good for crankbaits. Anyone use them?

No I dont use them, I would rather have one less thing to worry about failing. I tye a knot pretty quick, whats the extra minute or so worth?

Be careful, they may change the action of your Crankbait, or any bait for that matter..

I don't use them just because it takes 2 seconds to tie a not, infact I like the 2 second break to sit down and relax..

I can say this for sure...I fish with a guy who uses them and his line breaks at least once a trip when setting the hook.  I don't use them and never break my line on the hook set.

The weakest part of your line is the knot....if it's time to change lures, it's time to re-tie the knot......in my opinion. ;)

Plus, I hate those small little things....I can definitely tie a knot faster than using those things. ::)

Well I use durlock snap on some things. I just weigh a #2 snap it weigh a 1/10 of a grain.  That is not eought to change the action of a lure

It's holding a lure loosely around the eye hole of the lure, it's not like string which is directly tied to it.. Thus altering the movement..

It's not the weight in my mind that changes the action.

Personally, I'm not a fan of snaps and I never use them. BUT...Anything Bud recommends is always on spot. So,

if you want to give them a try, buy the #2 Durlock Snap. If it's good enough for Bud, it's the right one for you,

too.
