Pitching / Flipping reel settings

Featured Replies

Fairly new to pitching and flipping. Just curious do. You need to back off the tension knob all the way when doing this?

Will this cause backlashes and require more thumb control?

Thanks

You don't need to make any adjustments to start with. As you get more proficient you might consider less spool tension and perhaps scaling back on the brakes.

I use almost no spool tension, and lots of brake.

Since ya say your new to it I would just back off the spool tension a Lil bit. Keep the brakes the same. Much less effort pitching the looser the spool. But until the thumb education gets down I would not back the tension all the way off.
