buzzbait issues

Featured Replies

I bought a War Eagle 1/4 buzzbait and the dang thing pulls right, hard. How should I tune it to run straight? I've never tuned a buzzer before.

I got a Damiki buzzbait that does the same thing, I've messed around with the wire and blade a bit and can't get it to run straight for the life of me.

I just make sure the wire and hook line up , if not bend it . It should run off some .On a good buzzbait bite I will have two tied on to run right and left .

If it tracks to the right side, throw it to the left side of cover, especially docks, and run it into or underneath the cover.

Turn that lemon into lemonade!

Throw Caviton & ya will not have that problem!

I've had a similar issue after catching a fish, I was able to fix mine by bending the straight section of wire which the blade is on

This ^ I really only like the lunker lure and war eagle buzzbaits. I've tried the cavitron but they just didn't do it for me and I can't find them locally

So, what you're saying is I'm stuck with one that runs to one side? Would bending the wire at all help?

Probably so. You could bend it if you wanted but I feel like the rotation of the blade plays a big part in the direction that the bait moves. Those war eagle buzzbaits have a big blade compared to some other buzzbaits

The bass will still hit it  Makes bumping the stump easier .

Holding it by the hook while looking at the line tie; is the vertical arm in line with the hook?

If it is not twist the vertical arm till it lines up with the hook.

Another reason could be you are reeling too slow or too fast; both will cause a spinnerbait or buzzbait to lay over.
