Ruff water

Featured Replies

Hey guys I currently have 175tx it's a 94, we ride it on the lake of the ozarks and it is ruff. If you know anything  about lake of the ozarks you know that on most days down their 2-4 footers are expected. So my question too you is what's a good boat for bass fishing for that ruff of water, I'm looking that will ride kind of smooth and has a deck

My boat is good in rough water, still got beat up at LOZ this last weekend, and it wasn't even that bad. I think you might be best off with a deep V for down there if you're planning on fishing during the daytime year round.

Look at a deep V walleye/bass boat.

I have a Deep V and it handles rough water pretty well. I have a Tracker Deep V 16, it has a deck and much smoother ride than a mod V

Blue Nasser I was ripening mine on the main channel by Ozark barbaque. I got stuck in the trough of a 3 footer

We had to take a fish for the final weigh in on day 1 from Twin Islands to Alohana, so just straight across the main channel. My back still hurts from that ride that was probably only a mile round trip.

No doubt.  I think we made a 20 mile run about noon and you know who I was with.

Coty and I had a good laugh about that. He just got off the phone with Chris about how it wasn't that bad, I said "Meanwhile, Adam's puking blood in the passenger seat". I'd hate to see his idea of what bad is. I was running 30, just fast enough to keep on plane and not kill us in the process. Only time the BA's boat sees 30 is getting to WOT and coming down from WOT.

Get that nose of the boat in the sky, try to ride directly with or against the waves, and/or go with a deep V walleye/multi-species boat.  True bass boats, especially smaller sized aluminum ones, generally take a good beating in rougher water.

My Champion 203 rides really well in rough water.  Of course on rough water the boat only solves half of the issue, the other half is the person behind the boat that's driving it.
