Do these mount's acutaully break when you hit something?  or do have some kind of spring or cable that gives?  Also what is your opinion of them?  I'm looking at A motor guide pro 70 lb thrust for $399  from Bass Pro with this type of mount.

Mine came with two knobs you tighten up.  If you hit something it will give, but doesn't always go back into the vertical position.  I got a spring break kit, which replaces the knobs with springs.  If it hits something, it gives way, but then the springs pull the TM back into position.

Yes, you simply put it back in place and retighten the knobs if needed.
