i'm about to get my first depth finder...yay! i need to find out how to mount my transducer, i've heard vaguely(sp) how to do it but if anyone knows of a tutorial or can tell me and show pictures or something of that sort. i'd appreciate it greatly. thanks guys

Instructions will come with the unit.

fishinfool, are you mounting the transducer on your trolling motor, shooting thru the hull, or on the back of the boat skimmer?

All three methods have their +/- , pitfalls and tricks for mounting them.

well i want to put it on the back of the boat. i don't think its going to come w/ instructions seeing as its used and i'm getting it second hand, but i'll try to get the instructions from it.

fishinfool,

when mounting a skimmer style transducer there are a couple of things to remember.

1. the tranducer must be level.  if not, then you don't get a correct reading.

2. may sure that the skimmer will not be catching a lot of bubbles or turbid water from the boat hull

3. may sure that you seal up any holes you in the hull.

Good Luck, & Good fishing

Could someone give me some tips on mounting my transducer on my trolling motor?I'm thinking using hose clamps to fix the transducer on the TM.

Sorry didn't see you hideing out way down here.  ;D  That is how mine is mounted. Then tie wrap the cable onto the TM shaft. Allow some a little excess to go around the mount and to allow for adjustment and stowing if you have a bow mount. I split some aquarium tubeing and placed it around the cable any where there was a chance it might pinch. Then taped it up every few inches. That helped to stiffen it and allows it to move out of the way. It also helps if it would hang on brush. If you have a power drive I guess you still need help, other than I can give.

You can get transducer mounts for the trolling motor at Cabelas for 12.99
