What gear ratio do you all use for a swim jig reel 6.4, 7.1 or something else? Thanks for the help.

6.4:1 is my choice. I can slow it down enough to keep it lower in water column or speed it up and burn it over grass. 

6.x. I find it really hard to fish things like swimjigs, spinnerbaits, etc. with a fast reel.

I like a fast reel.  6 something is fine, but 7 something is better.

 

I don't fish them often, but prefer a fast reel since I'm usually fishing over and around vegetation. 

I use a 7.1 reel for swim jigs, chatter baits and spinnerbaits.

Depends on the depth I need to fish them. There's no wrong answer here.
