This is my 2016 season hat, one dot for every Bass I get in my kayak. Not hook, or lose, they have to be in my kayak to count. Only Bass get a dot, other species get an honorable mention lol how do you keep track?

I keep an Excel spreadsheet that contains all my fishing data (catches, tackle, etc.). As far as keeping track of fish caught from my boat, I add bass silhouettes to the hull - each silhouette represents 100 bass caught.  Here's an older photo from last year:

ROFL I thought the exact same thing!!! I was OMG no way in heck could I keep up with this guy.

I keep a fish log but I don't record every fish caught. so I have no idea how many, never thought to count

I don't keep a score. I do write it down in the log though. I just don't go back and count all of them. I did recently count the big fish (5+lb) over the last few years. It's interesting to see where, how and on what baits you caught them. It certainly helps improve.

I'm not after quantity anymore, I'm after quality. But I'm the type of dude that, if I caught a 12 pounder tonight, right after I released it, I'd just be on to the next bite. The quest never ends.

I just estimate......usually on the heavy side for both numbers and weight!!

On days I get 100 bass or more I write it down on a piece of paper. I also write down days I get bass over 8 pounds. All this information goes in my fishing log to help me improve my ability to catch more and bigger bass.

Under ten and its easy, ten to twenty you have to concentrate, over twenty its a estimate, over thirty its a guesstimate!  I have fished with guys with counters, but if the bite is really on, I would forget to push the button. 

just mentally keep track of each trip it's only for fun anyway so no real worry if i don't know

I use the notes in the Deeper app.  I mainly keep track to recall which tactics worked....

Very nice, if each bass sticker is 100 bass, this means you caught at least 3,500 bass in this boat.

I can't imagine a 100 bass fishing day Lol I would be in heaven. I don't think lakes around here are healthy enough. Or maybe I'm not that good lol

You should visit the Everglades for one of your vacations, it happens often here when the water levels are low.

I went to lake Toho in Orlando and did a guided tour it was supposed to be a 4 hr trip but because of weather it got cut down to 1.5...caught 14 that day haha so I'm sure that could definitely happen down in florida. 

Spring/Summer is a good time to come down here for +100 bass days, as long as the water level is low enough in the canals. The Tamiami Trail canal and Alligator Alley canal are great spots.

I have actually never thought of keeping track of overall numbers. 

If I did what your doing I would have broken my neck by now!!

I fish year round here in Cali, three times a week during the warmer months.

I fish three different lakes.

What Ive found is every day when I come home and put my kayak in the shop, I write what I caught, where, and with what on my calendar. 

The cool thing is I put them on the wall next to each other, and its really amazing how every lake has the same patterns year after year....

Yea, I was like....this guy must fish like every day and absolutely kill everyone in local tournaments. 

 

As to the question, I don't count long term. I keep track for the day in my head how many I have caught. I'll also keep track of the weight of any fish over 3 for that day. I don't keep any kind of log but it would probably help me improve so I might consider it in the future. 

I got a nice fishing log if anyone wants the excel format to keep track off stuff.

I might have to start a log as well but what all info do you guys keep besides what you caught, what you caught him on, and maybe temperature? could someone maybe put a screenshot of the excel sheet they were talking about or a pic of their log for ideas?? Thanks again!
