Not really......Your post is more interesting

Some 195s are having issues with the transom cracking.  I would wait and see if they make any changes.

I was thinking about putting some on my 195. My concern was how the weight would affect the nose since they sit so high stock. but after all these transom problems, I decided to hold off. I may try 2 power pole micros.

ive been on the phone and internet chat with bass pro shop and tracker customer service.  Looks like you can install power pole without voiding any warranty. I started out with a phone call and email to tracker:

email goes like this:

Dewayne,

Per our phone conversation, this is the response from the plant:

RE: Talon on TXW

We do not recommend this, there is no option for this and we have never tested for this

I would say in my opinion this would void their warranty

It’s my pleasure to assist you!

then I was not satisfied, so i went on a live chat, which was more helpful:

Dewayne, I know of 3 or 4 instances of cracked transoms on the 195 rigged with the 150 and no shallow water anchors. There is talk on other forums about this. I would be real leery of adding any additional weight and even chancing voiding a warranty at this time. Just my .02

i'm going to go with the Neptune shallow water anchor system for now.  Thank you guys for your input.

Also i received an email from talon.  I'll post it if yall want.  but from my view, i think talons customer service sucks.

How about a couple of Micro Power Poles?  I know they're only rated for 1500 pounds but they don't cost near as much as talons or power poles and if you had 2 then you could potentially hold up to 3000 pounds in weight.

I dont think you read this thread very well. The cost wasn't the topic. It was reports of issues with the transom cracking and warranties being potentially voided on these particular boats. Some were having issues with just a 150hp engine and no PP/Talons involved.

Perhaps the 115HP would be the safest bet ? ... Specifically the 115HP Optimax 2 stroke for lighter weight ?

If someone were to do that then I'd opt for the 190 as its transom has already been proven.

I don't know how many of the 195's have been sold, but for a few forum guys to have identical cracked welds on the transom, it has to raise some concern. Makes me wonder how many guys who are not "on the forums" have run into this

so far i haven't had any issues with any cracks on the transom.  the boat is running good with no problems.  I received the neptune shallow water anchors yesterday,  just waiting on the flooding to go down (boat ramp under water).

I've eliminated the 195 from consideration , the 190 appears to be a better buy , proven hull and I can't tell any real difference between the two for the extra price difference ?

195 has a wider beam by 7 inches or so and still has a little cooler built into the floor. Aside from the cracked welds, those are the only differences... :D

These things can't stand anymore weight on transom I love the boat a little hard to steer and way to back heavy I think a smaller motor would make a difference I'm thinking about trading down to a 90 hp

Thank you for mentioning these anchors. They will be my next anchoring system.

Honestly...

the Neptune system looks like something you could build yourself for 1/4 the cost in an hours time in the garage.
