I have a decent boat and target bass, little to no luck and have never caught anything over 3lbs.  No confidence at allIt happened to one of my friends today!

I struggled to catch fish when I started fishing too. I didn't catch 1 bass all of 2 summers ago. Read a lot and fish a lot and it will come. You might need to try a new spot or fish ponds. Also zoom trick worms Texas rigged caught me my first few fish

Thanks, fishing on and off for 15 years.  I know there are pigs in the lake.  I'll keep plugging away

Fish a dropshot and your luck and confidence will change dramatically!

If that doesnt work ive been killing it here recently with a weightless senko

Try a weightless senko, fished slow. If that doesnt work try a weighted senko. If that dosent work try a fluke. Last resort the ned rig. You should catch bass.

Buzz baits make for a good bass lure, and if you are fishing an area with a lot of lilies then try flippin a frog. Try wacky rigging a senko, great reaction bites and pretty cheap so if you lose a few it aint too big a deal. I mostly use frogs, buzz baits, soft plastics, and occasionaly a crank bait. I fish my soft plastic worms texas rigged and have caught a couple hogs like that, but my best is a buzz bait.

Not many lillies, lots of steep drops.  I need to use plastics more, i must admit i dont use them nearly enough. I use them in ponds all the time but off the boat i dont.     Thanks again

I always like jigs and bucktails for steep drops bass fishin. No problem, have a good one!

Get you a couple basic bass lures.

White 3/8oz spinner bait

A simple Texas rigged worm (smaller gets more bites bigger less but generally bigger) Green Pumpkin is a known good universal color.

Now toss away either or will do well if you have located the bass.
