Hey all, I'm new to fishing, today was my second time, first time with my own rod & reel. I was fishing at a big pond by my house and caught a bass. While I was out there were a few of these fish (pictured) that were lurking around the top of the water, they had a fin sticking up from the middle of their back and they were pretty long. I know the picture isn't great but I was wondering if anyone could identify this fish? I was trying different lures but they weren't interested in what I had to offer!

Looks like a grass carp to me also. If it is, they're very difficult to get to bite. 

I think I can see scales along the back but not positive. About the only other thing it could be is a big channel cat but scales would quickly eliminate that as an option since they don't have any.

I also see sasquatch was fishing there teh night before based off the tracks...  <Squatch call>

I'd be more worried about those tracks. left by Bigfoot.    Well....not too big, but looks like he didn't lose any weight so watch out.

Looks like a carp. Try casting a breadball next to it when you see it again. That's how I catch the majority of my carp down here .

This definitely works to get them in ! 

Carp are super finicky and corn, dough balls, berries, and flies are your best bet.  They also get super line shy, so fishing light leaders can help a lot.  That being said, hold on if you can coax a bite.  They can run like crazy and can be a real challenge on 6-8lb line/leaders.  They're one of few freshwater fish that can run 100+ yards off of a reel.
