Skunked again!

Recommended Posts

Getting skunked 2 days in a row STINKS! Finally got out for the first time this year yesterday with my daughter. We spent 2 and a half hours with nary a nibble. Thankfully she still enjoyed it, i went out again this morning to the same lake and once again NOTHING! This time 3.5 hours. Tried everything from frogs to fat ika's to worms and NOTHING! Had some errands to run this afternoon, got done and went out to a local small lake and once again NOTHING! VERY FRUSTRATING!

I will press on and keep my chin up, that way the tears of frustration don't soak my shirt.:confused2:

Oh, and did i mention I lost, 1 frog, 2 worms, and 1 Fat Ika!!!!

4" Senko weightless with a EWG hook Texas rigged.  Fish slow, let the Senko slowly flutter to the bottom, then snap off the bottom and let it flutter back down.  Change up the cadence until you find a style they like.

Try dead sticking the bait and move it about every 15 sec or so.

if this doesn't catch them, there isnt fish in the lake to be caught.

IMO slow is the way to go. When the water gets hot the fish slow down. You gotta slow down too. Drop shotting and letting a bait (like a senko or worm) soak is the way I usually get them. The temps hit 90 degrees here today and the fish will be slow and be deeper than normal.
