Soft Plastic Swimbait Storage

Featured Replies

Any way to store or straighten out boot tail swimbaits that come in bags all jacked up and don't swim right at all?

Boil them until they soften up then hang them so they dry straight.

I'm assuming you're talking about smaller, paddle tail baits?

Yes like the RI little and skinny dipper. But yrs I will boil and hang, I do that to my flukes but don't hang. Not sure why I didn't think of that lol.

If you hang them by the tail it works best because the weight of the bait helps keep the tail section straight.

You can boil them, hang them by their tail. What I have done is if they come in clamshell packaging I cut out the cavity part and use rubber bands to hold the two halves together, then I can just throw them wherever without worry of the plastic getting deformed.

I boil em and then pull on the tail about 10 seconds then hang em. I store most of my hudds, ospreys etc in tupelwhere
