Has anyone used the Schumacher se8 charger? It is a 6/12 volt batter with 8 and 2 amp charging. If not, would it work good for my 12v battery? Thanks

I use a couple different Schumacher chargers for my kayak batteries.  They all work great.  I can't remember the models, but they're small, quick, and have a conditioner mode, once fully charged.

Thanks. It says it's for automobiles and stuff like that. It would still work fine for a trolling motor battery right?

As long as it has a 12v mode.

I haven't heard of a 13 volt battery but what do I know(?).

I've had a Shumacher charger poop out in less than two years and I've had one that lasted numerous years.   It seems to be a crap shoot.

I had one for my trolling motor battery and it worked great. Never had an issue with it

I have there charger for about 25 years now. I also use there jumper for equipment. 

I only buy there products.

I have an old one that has a metal case, been working well for many years.

I am on my fourth plastic case model in 8 years. I always get the 10A size. I have come to expect low quality, but they are readily available at Walmart about 2 miles from me.

 

As a kid, I used to hang out in Don Shumacher's garage talking cars with Tony. Never owned one of his chargers

Thanks for all the help. Went with a Schumacher charger. Not sure of exact type, it was 30 bucks from academy.
