Matt Lures Flat Tail bluegill

Featured Replies

Thinking about getting into the swimbait game, and I noticed these. I know people catch fish on them during the spawn just dropping it on the bed, but other than that is there any other time that that the flat tail is better than the paddle tail?

Isn't it Matt lures?

The way I understand it, Matt designed the flat tail specifically as a bed fishing bait. I'm sure you could catch fish dead sticking it in key locations, but I think you would be better off with the boot tail versions and swimming it. No reason you can't bed fish with the boot tail version too.

Crazy how this exact post has been being discussed for at least 9+ years.

They both work but I prefer the thump of the boottail.

Maybe don't bother reading the post if it bothers you so much that people ask questions! Especially new people. After all, it is a forum where people come to ASK QUESTIONS!

@jtharris3 Never said it bothered me ? I was just stating that this has been covered for 9 years. Alot of information to read About what he was asking. Calm down .  I'll do as I please.

I get that this argument is finished, but I did try the search tool before asking the question, and did not find anything that explained.

Pretty much every topic has been dicussed on these forums before but its always good go to see people come here and ask question. Mostly all other forums are dead and this one is still strong and probably has some of the best fisherman in the world posting here daily. Ive learned so much here. Thanks again guys

I just tried the search bar and couldn't find it either... if you go back years in the discussions it is all over the place.. I didn't mean for it to sound like he shouldn't ask ?? I didn't tell him to use the search before he posted.   I said it was funny how this has been discussed for the past 9 years..

I find myself on the older pages alot. Once you get to see some of the regulars who post now it's cool to see how their preferences change.

Sometimes it's good to re-post topics because it gives new people a chance to share their experiences with a bait/technique.

Flat Tail for jigging .  Paddle tail for swimming.  Easy enough.

There's also a flat tail floating version for deadstick presentations, but shhhhh...don't tell anyone!  ?
