Got a gift card to Cabelas for my birthday and decided to take a baby step into the swim bait world.  I picked up a savage gear bluegill 5" deal.  I think i can throw it on my H action rod, or at least enough to let me know if i want to get something more specific to throw bigger baits.  I also picked up one of those StutterStep topwater baits...that thing looks crazy.

I fish them almost like a glide bait with quick cranks and pauses, they work.

Happy bday. Those 5" savages swim great, and you can throw them on that heavy rod no problem. I had troubles hooking up with the treble on top, the bottom setup worked better for me.
