Thanksgiving/Christmas

My son brought up a good point yesterday on how it seems that our Thanksgiving holiday isn't so quite as messed up as Christmas.  People and Christmas seem to really have changed with all the buying and worrying about this and that and if they have time they might even remember the reason for the season.  I know this may be exagerated in some peoples eyes but I feel more relaxed at Thanksgiving and having family over to eat, BS, play with the kids and just relax for the most part.  Don't get me wrong ....Love Christmas and the reason for the season....but I also love him on Thanksgiving and the other 363 days of the year.

Tight Lines and Happy Holidays

I think I enjoy thanksgiving just as much as Christmas. I wish my family would stop the gift giving, we are all at a point in our lives where we really don't need anything but its great to get together.

I am getting grumpy in my old age. The only joy I get out of Christmas is making my kids happy, and in recent years Thanksgiving has irritated me because of the constant bombardment of "Black Friday this,Black Friday that" leading up to, and following it.

Que up the Archie Bunker theme song....................I'll be right back, there's some kids I have to go chase of my lawn.

Black friday should only be an issue if you actually go out and participate in it, which i dont do. Unless just the ads really get to you, but even then stuff is advertised year round regardless if its on sale or not..

Thanksgiving is all about getting the whole family together and enjoying the misses cranberry, sausage, bread, mushroom stuffing, I live for this holiday.

Christmas eve is the next one. Every food you can think of is served. Everything from king crab to pasta with anchovies/olive oil. It's a feast the whole night.

Christmas dinner. From Primed Rib to home made pasta.

holidays are about family, friends and great food. The family tradition lives on.
