Okuma Citrix rod vs Okuma Guide Select Swimbait

Featured Replies

I just got a Okuma Citrix 350 reel.  I am trying to match a rod with it.  The XH of both have exact same specs except one has more guides.  I want to cast 3 - 6 oz swimbaits.  I have not found any reviews of the Citrix rod (not to be confused with Citrix travel rod!).

Anyone ever use the XH Citrix rod?  Should I match the bling of my reel or just go with the Swimbait rod?

An online retailer just emailed me suggesting the more expensive swimbait rod over the XH Citrix.  Are they just trying to sell me a more expensive rod or are they correct?

I am excited I have finally found a solid but cheap reel (paid $111 for it out the door, not bad for the Komodo SS platform!) now I just need everything else.

I have the Guide Select, and it's a great rod.  I use it as much as my custom swimbait rod.

I also have the Guide Select and it's been an excellent swimbait rod. I have 3 swimbait rods, including a custom, and it's my preferred rod.

I have a Guide Select, 6'6" mhf 3/8-3/2 oz. 12-25lb line.Do you guys know it's intended purpose? I use is for jigs. Thanks.Tom

I don't have either, but based off all the positive reviews in the past for the guide select, I would go with that.   I've bought several rods online without ever laying a hand on them, but getting quite a bit of feedback from bassresource members, and every one of those rods were perfect, and accurately described.

Which one would u recommend do throw  Deps 250?
