Best rod for flipping and pitching/jigs

Featured Replies

Best rod for flipping and pitching around brush and I want to be able to throw jigs on this rod as well. Prices under $150

Check out a Dobyns Fury 734C or 735C. 735C can also double as a great frogging rod.

Heck you forgot to include their Dobyns Fury FR 765 Flip. That whole series runs around $110.  Another good choice is an Irod Genesis II  Fred's Magic stick  IRG 754F.  That rod goes for $150. I belong to another board and its owner was friends with the owner of Irod. He used to put together big group purchases at discount. I know at least 6 guys purchased them and loved em. Lastly check out Falcon rods. I fish a Bucoo series and it fishes well. They have a model called the Amistad and two other options for flippimg and pitchin. Check out their website.

H2O xpress ethos 7ft 3 heavy. Only $60 at academy and I like it better than my $300 loomis for flipping and pitching as long as you don't throw heavy jigs with it. Academy also has a no questions asked return policy on the ethos line of rods

abu's verritas really good rod for the money.

My first flipping stick was a Fenwick Elite Tech, and I love, love, LOVED it.  You should be able to get one for around $150.  I'm using a Dobyns Sierra now, and the Fenwick had a little softer tip which I really liked.

flyingmonkie which Sierra do you have

I have a Daiwa Tatula 7'6" that does the job. Fitzgerald also has a ton of options in multiple price ranges.

I'm looking at the 7'6" Dobyns Fury Med Heavy...Is that too much rod for pitching?

In that price range, I'd be looking at a St. Croix Mojo Bass 7'1" MH/F "jig/baits" rod. It's long enough you can still get good distance flippin'/pitching with it, yet short enough you'll be able to cast with some accuracy as well.
