I bought an All Star 6' 10" spinnerbait rod for $20 a few days ago. Several other KC area members stocked up on them after I tipped them off.

Our Academy has stuff marked way down, but that stuff went fast. Everything was pretty much gone. Including Lew's all American hero baitcasters for $9! That's right $9!!!! For that price, I'd bought 3 or 4.

I keep waiting for the H2O Mettle bait cast reel to go on clearance with at least a $10.00 off sale price ... It's been a long time since this specific reel was even on sale . Once the "new" version came out with a higher price tag - it never goes on sale now !

:censored: Wish my closest one wasnt an hour drive as well.

The closest one to my home is 3 hours in Evansville but we stayed down in Jax for the holidays so I guess I got kind of lucky! But Loyd of goodies for Christmas this year lol! Hopefully they keep branching out. It was night and day comparative to DSG. The selection of Rods and generally everything else was much better and the prices were really good, on everything, including apparel! Don't think I could go back into DSG again!

I hit them up last week and made a good haul on hardware:

3 H20 motive reels normally $80 ea for $25 each

Daiwa Tatula rod normally $159 for $60

2 H20 Ethos Rods  normally $99 for $29 ea

I spent ~$200 and got $600 in gear!

The reason I went is I heard they had the realtree mettle reels on sale for $10, but they were out of those.

Cleaned house pretty good!

Ugh...I envy those who live in the south and midwest.

Well, I learned my lesson this year. Just about all the great deals were gone by 6 pm yesterday. Next year, I'll be there when the doors open the day after Christmas.

I've racked up lately on stuff from academy. Bought 2 daiwa tatula spinning rods, a M and a ML, as well as 2 Casting rods , a Heavy fast and a M fast, for $40 a piece, 2 duckett 300s for $60 a piece, 6 Live target sun fishes for $3 a piece, 10 *** frogs for $2 a piece, owner hooks in various sizes for $.99 a pack, as well as way too many packs of soft plastics for dirt cheap and there's more, I just don't even remember what all I bought. I went a little crazy haha.

Got some Nanofil for $4 and got my first spool of Gliss for $12.

Glad we came to TX and visited the family this Christmas.
