What brand Trolling motor plug/recepticle

Featured Replies

I always use the connect pro for my minn kota, but after replacing another one (probably replaced 20 over the years) I'm wondering what others use and if there are better brands. I never really like their design, the wires end up being to close together, which invites a short. the other marinco style plug is more expensive but I see a lot of complaints on reviews of them also

The plug and receptacle that I have on my Ranger has served me well for 29 years and has never been replaced. Cabela's still sells them.

Its rare when my plugs lasts longer then 6 months, the main reason is usually because the wires are installed so close to each other on the plug or recepticle, it amazes me after all these years that they haven't designed them differently. I wonder if they think they will sell more the way they are

Use a Hubbell 30 amp 125 volt marine plug and receptacle, never had a problem in over 40 years.

The RT188 I just purchased has the trolling motor hard wired, there is not plug to go bad. Granted switching to a different trolling motor may be harder but for reliability and performance this is the way to go.

No good for me - I prefer the plug.

Offers options without needing  to break down wiring.
