Portable Fish Finder

Featured Replies

I am looking into getting a fish finder. I have a 14' Jon boat that I am converting into a bass boat. I will commonly fish from that, a smaller jon boat or a kayak. I also bank fish in ponds a lot. I am looking to invest in a portable fish finder. I like the idea of a mobile one, because I can use it in ponds too. I am looking at the base model Deeper and the iBobber Pulse. Open to suggestions too. Also what accessories do I need, I have an old Ugly Stik combo that I can cast it out with.

With that type sonar, how well can you see your mobile device in bright sunlight since that would be your display?

I have an iPhone 5s right now and a few iPads at my disposal. I also have a portable charger

Portable sonar units have become scarce, but for small craft and rental boats (e.g. Canada),

a nice portable unit is the "Eagle Fish Mark 320"

I have that exact unit.  I mostly use it for when I'm fishing out of a canoe, or ice fishing.  It performs as expected, shows depth, cover, fish, the basics.  Don't get it if you're looking for a really nice set up, but it works nicely for a portable finder.
