Followed the birds and my instincts to a massive school of very active wipers and spent about 2 hours catching them almost every cast.

Did you see gulls in the area ? I always  take note of where the gulls are , even if they are on the banks . The last couple of weeks I have been seeing gulls hovering over  a shallow flat on the Mississippi river . It must be an easy place to pick off dying shad .If thats the case  it should harbor catfish too . Ive been thinking about finding some fresh shad and try for some channel cats there .

Yes, there was a small flock of gulls diving occasionally. It's funny because on this lake, gulls equal fish. On the other power plant lake I fish, gulls just equal shad because there's so many in that lake the birds can just follow schools of shad and pick them off.

Great video, thanks for sharing.

I actually saw this that for the 1st time last year on the warm side of lake Anna. It was awesome! I hook 6 got 4 of them to the boat. One of the fish I lost was big. It was pulling the drag on Lews pro bb1 easily. I cranked it tight as it could go and it was still pulling drag. I fought it for about 5 mins before it spit my crank bait. It was a great trip.

we caught large mouth, stripers and walleye.

we were invited down last year. I haven't heard if they are having anything this year. Being a private lake, the fishing was just out of this world. 33 degrees out that day with water temps in the upper 60's! Really hoping we get to fish it again, it helps with the winter blues!

That's what I'm talking about! Dream like! :)
