I forgot to write about this last week. It was last Sunday I went to Academy and bought some 1/16oz Mr Crappie heads to try the Ned on. I was on my way home and I wanted to see what they looked like o

  • When that bite is on it can be absolutely stupid! My buddy and I had 2 weekends in a row where we caught 168 one day and 189 the following weekend. All on a TRD fished Ned style. Congrats on a good da

It almost feels like cheating sometimes. Scary thing, it's even better if you're around smallmouth.

I've been fishing this set up for a few years, had no idea it had a name (thanks internets, lol). It's the cheapest fish finder I ever bought! And that's exactly what I use it for. It's great to use in new lakes When you don't know what they hold I found. Caught a ridiculous number of trout on it last week in a new lake (it looked bassy to me but no bass)it outfished my wife who is a fly fishing purist. Super suprised. It was probably just "my day" but whatever. I don't use a Yamamoto senko though, I use the savage gear 3D armor worms now. They work well for me.

Here we are with a full moon and spawn beginning.

And I was bailed out by Ned today!

That said, I did have a beast on my 8" Mann's Jelly worm

today that came off about 10 feet from my yak while tail

dancing. Was a big lady, wish I could have landed her. :(

But that was my one and only bite on that bait. A good one,

tho.

Anyhow, Ned came thru with a ~3/4 lber. Lost one on the

Ned, too... wind was not very fishing friendly, either.

They are best fished in sparse or nonexistent wood and grass, but it is surprisingly weedless because of the small hook and lite weight.  Just don't fish them in heavy weeds or timber.  Also, the ned rig is best in less than 12 feet of water, past that and a different technique would be better.  Here's a link that tells you where it should and should not be fished, plus details of how to start fishing the ned rig,

Nice fish guys! I love this rig too. For me, it works great in the smaller lakes and ponds I usually fish

welcome to the forum . from your responses to other threads it seems you like the Ned Rig.

It is one of the most popular topics on this forum. hang around here enough and you will see plenty of opinions on the bait.
