My company had its annual sales meeting this week and I had to work it this afternoon.  Around lunch I decided to walk around and scope out some of the merchandise to see what's new.  As I'm about done I notice a bass boat at the Pennzoil boothl. Not something I expected as I work in the farm and ranch industry.  So of course I have to check it out and from the distance I see the signature blonde mop hair and and am star struck. Jimmy Houston is there just hanging out working the booth.  I got the chance to speak with him for about 10 minutes before I had to head back to my booth.   He couldn't have been a nicer guy.

The blond bass kisser. He is definitely a classic. 

Met him at a grand opening of the local BPS. His show has always been one of my favorites as it is an actual fishing show, not a talk show with just a little bit of actual fishing footage thrown in. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

Jimmy is one of the best guys to meet! He's the same person you see on tv and what you see is what you get. Even after a bad tournament day, he's still in a good mood and whilling to stand and sign autographs until people the crowds die down. I've had the pleasure of meeting him many times throughout my life and each time has been special. The first time I met him I was just a little kid, and a full year later when I got to see him again, the man remembered me by name! It absolutely floored me. I haven't got to see him in a few years now, but I'm looking forward to it when the FLW Tour comes up to La Crosse!

I met Jimmy on Okeechobee a few years ago.  My buddy invited me down for a couple days.  Our first day out was right in the middle of the FLW tour event that year.  We launched the same time as those guys.  As we were idling out, Jimmy comes up next to my buddy's tracker v-18 and says, "You boys wanna race!" followed by that signature laugh.  Dude cracks me up!

Tell Jimbo he needs a haircut. Age hasn't done that style well...
