Bearing change.

  I have the drag side plate off.

I have the reel handle and star drag off.

How does the gear side plate come off?

Thanks but have seen all that. Doesnt show how to release the side plate.

Flip the reel upside down. 

On the bottom of the frame (under the level wind assembly), find the black plastic spring loaded tab / button.

Slide that to the left ( in the direction toward the center of the reel), this will release the palm side cover.

The palm side plate rotates once the latch is released. 

Thanks A- Jay, I know that.  Its the side plate with the gears, star drag side.  the screws are all out but will not twist, turn or come off.

I think there is a secret small screw you're missing, maybe inside the area the spool is in.  I have that blue bomber and I had a similar issue when I tried to clean it.  Haven't used the thing in a llloooonnngg time, but I can check it out when I get home later this evening and relay the info back (if you haven't gotten it by now).
